This is an overarching breakdown that prioritises the features of the game
Priority 1: Core Mechanics This includes the basic functions that the player will be experience throughout the game. It doesn't need to be polished yet.
Priority 2: Game Ending ~ Win/Lose Conditions This gives the game challenge and an objective that the player will have to work towards.
Priority 3: Game Beginning ~ Teaching/Progression Allow the player to gradually understand the games mechanics over time, allowing the player to comfortably learn each feature step by step.
Priority 4: Game Middle ~ Skill Atom This is a pseudo polish phase that attempts to increase the gratification of the gameplay
Priority 5: Polish/Stretch Goals Finally we have the polish and stretch goals. This is when extra enhancements are to be applied to the art and extra features can be implemented.
